Zambia to Launch Integrated Mining Information System for Improved Governance
By Alice Lubasi
The Ministry of Mines will tomorrow launch the Zambia Integrated Mining Information System (ZIMIS).
The system represents a new era of digital innovation in mining license management, offering stakeholders a seamless and user-friendly platform for all mining-related transactions.
Mines Permanent Secretary, Hapenga Kabeta, says the system is designed to streamline processes, reduce administrative bottlenecks, and ensure greater accountability across the sector.
Dr. Kabeta says the system marks a significant step forward in enhancing efficiency, transparency, and governance in Zambia’s mining sector.
In a statement to ZNBC News, Dr. Kabeta said that in preparation for the transition, the current Cadastre System, Trimble Landfolio System, was closed today at 14:00 hours.
The Permanent Secretary says the newly developed ZIMIS will officially be accessible through the Government Service Bus (GSB).
He says from today, only transactions processed through ZIMIS will be considered valid and stakeholders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new system
