Zambia to participate in United Nations General Assembly
Zambia is set to participate at the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The General Assembly in New York, United States of America is scheduled for September, 22 to 30, 2024.
The General Assembly has been convened under the theme: “Leaving No One Behind: Acting Together for the Advancement of Peace, Sustainable Development and Human Dignity for Present and Future Generations.”
Foreign Affairs Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE, says while in New York, the Zambian delegation will take part in the historic Summit of the Future, which will be held from September 22 to 23, 2024.
Mr. HAIMBE says the Summit of the Future is an opportunity for Zambia to mobilise resources for sustainable development, harness the democratic dividend and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society.
And Mr HAIMBE has told ZNBC News that on the margins of the General Assembly and Summit of the Future, Zambia will co-host three significant side events.
He says Zambia will co-host the Sustainable Financing for Future Generations; the Global Digital Compact, and Ending Child Marriage.
