ZAMRA Enforces Registration for All Imported Cosmetic Products
By Penlope Sikazwe
The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) has announced that all cosmetic products being imported into the country must be registered with the authority with immediate effect.
ZAMRA Senior Public Relations Officer, Ludovic Mwape, stated that the authority has already begun the process of registering manufacturers of cosmetics in the country through a phased approach.
Mr. Mwape told ZNBC News that manufacturers of cosmetic products have been given a two-year grace period to register with ZAMRA, a process that began in September last year.
However, Mr. Mwape emphasized that the grace period will not apply to imports, which will be immediately scrutinized.
