
ZANACO supports youth in agriculture with K1M

ZANACO Chief Executive Officer MUKWANDI CHIBESAKUNDA has announced a one-million Kwacha contribution towards youth empowerment in the agriculture sector.
Speaking during the 2025 Youth Indaba, Ms. CHIBESAKUNDA said the support is aimed at complementing Government efforts in recovering from the effects of the recent drought.
And reading a communiqué on behalf of the youth, NYAMBE NYAMBE called for increased investment in entrepreneurial initiatives to create jobs.
Mr. NYAMBE also urged more investment in scholarships and sponsorship programmes to enable young people access higher education and skills training to enhance their contribution to national development.
Meanwhile, Lusaka Province Minister SHEAL MULYATA said Government is committed to amplifying the voices of young people, recognizing their energy and ingenuity, which require support from all sectors.
At the same event, United Nations Resident Coordinator BEATRICE MUTALI praised President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA for his dedication to tackling youth-related challenges.
In a speech read on her behalf by United Nations Development Programme -UNDP- Resident Representative JAMES WAKIAGA, Ms. MUTALI said young people must be equipped with skills to navigate shifting geopolitical dynamics, the global economic landscape, and climate change.
