By Kasabula Muchimba
ZESCO has cut power supply in some selected parts of flooded Lusaka’s Kanyama and Makeni as a precautionary measure.
ZESCO says this is aimed at preventing electrical hazards such as electrocution and infrastructure damage.
ZESCO Board Chairperson VICKSON N’CUBE has told ZNBC News that ZESCO is working with the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- and other stakeholders to resolve the issue.
He has appealed to the affected residents to remain calm while the situation is being addressed.
Meanwhile, Kanyama Member of Parliament MONTY CHINKULI has called on ZESCO and the DMMU to expedite the process of addressing the electricity problem in the area to avoid inconveniencing the affected residents.
Mr. CHIKULI also said he is happy that the power utility company has swiftly moved in Kanyama to help the affected residents.
