ZESCO loses 150 MW of power as Maamba Energy does maintenance

Zesco says it has lost 150 megawatts of the available national electricity generation following a technical fault at Maamba Energy.

Zesco Spokesperson MATONGO MAUMBI says Maamba Energy is undertaking corrective maintenance expected to last for a week from 20th to 27th October 2024.

Mr MAUMBI says Zesco will strive to maintain the 3-hour power supply in residential areas by collaborating with power traders and revamping availability.

He has  urged the consumers to continue adopting energy efficiency methods that will help cushion the strain on the power system.
