ZESCO recovers stolen and vandalized property
ZESCO Spokesperson Matongo Maumbi says this signals progress in the fight against theft, vandalism, and related crimes.
Mr. Maumbi says the company has also recorded a decline in losses from over 1.2 million Kwacha in the last week of 2024 to over 1.1 million Kwacha in the first week of 2025.
Mr. Maumbi says this development comes alongside a reduction in reported cases from 58 to 49, with vandalism cases alone decreasing by 14 percent from 54 to 47.
He says this reflects improved security measures.
He told ZNBC News that the utility plans to release its annual report on vandalism in the coming weeks, providing an in-depth analysis of trends and achievements from 2024.
Mr. Maumbi has urged citizens to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and support initiatives aimed at protecting public resources.
