
ZESCO restores Power to 80,000 flood affected households

Zesco has successfully restored power to over 80,000 households in Lusaka that were affected by the recent floods.
The floods had caused power outages in areas including Kanyama, Garden House, and Villa Park, among others.
Zesco Acting Senior Regional Manager for the Lusaka South Region, Percy Mushambi, assured the public that the utility will continue its efforts to educate community members on essential safety measures during floods.
Speaking during an inspection of the flood-affected areas in Lusaka, Mr. Mushambi reaffirmed Zesco’s commitment to prioritizing the safety of citizens.
Zesco Safety Compliance Officer, Kennedy Chewe, noted that community members have responded positively to the safety sensitization programme.
He urged residents to report any faults promptly to help prevent accidents.
Meanwhile, community members have expressed their gratitude to Zesco for the timely restoration of power.
