ZESCO secures additional power imports
By Wilson Mulinda
ZESCO says it has secured additional power imports and that residential customers can be assured of SEVEN hours of electricity supply daily
Company Board Chairperson, VICKSON NCUBE says some imports from one of the regional countries could not be secured, due to path-related constraints.
Mr. NCUBE said today in Lusaka that the constraints have now been resolved, enabling ZESCO to secure additional imports to complement internal generation.
He explained that residential customers will receive at least 7 hours of supply, while critical social services, such as hospitals, universities, water pumping stations remain exempted from power rationing.
Mr. NCUBE said ZESCO will continue to communicate transparently with all its stakeholders as the situation evolves.
