ZICA commends Govt on method of contacting loans

The Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) has praised the government for ensuring that all loans obtained on behalf the people are brought before parliament.

ZICA President, Yande Mwenye, was speaking during the 2024 fourth quarter media briefing on various national matters.

Mrs. Mwenye said there is still a need to implement sound fiscal policies to prevent a recurrence of unsustainable debt levels.

She said this will also include enhancing revenue collection and promoting economic diversification.

Ms. Mwenye said ZICA welcomes the customs and excise amendment bill among many other amendments as it helps to broaden the tax base.
