ZNFU nods HH move increase funds for SAFF

Some stakeholders in the agriculture sector have welcomed the move by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA to increase the Sustainable Agriculture Financing Facility -SAFF- loan from 400 million to 1.2 billion Kwacha for the 2024/2025 farming season.

In an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka today, Zambia National Farmers Union -ZNFU- President JERVIS ZIMBA says the increase is a step in the right direction.

Mr. ZIMBA says the government should outline the procedure on how farmers can access the loans.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Technical and Professional Staff Union of Zambia Vice President BUSUMAN BANDA says the increment will enhance food security in the country.

Mr. BANDA says the increment will complement efforts by the government through FISP.
