ZNPHI sets up Mpox Isolation facilities
By Alice Lubasi
The Zambia National Public Health Institute -ZNPHI- has set up Mpox Isolation facilities in all districts across the country for patients who test positive for the disease.
ZNPHI Assistant Director – Emergency Preparedness and Response PAUL ZULU says this is meant to mitigate the spread of the disease.
In a telephone interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka today, Dr. ZULU said the institute is also putting in place measures to ensure that some patients are managed from home should the country have more cases.
He said more health care workers have also been trained on how to handle the disease.
Dr. ZULU said the institute is partnering with media outlets among other measures to ensure that the public is sensitised on the disease and how they can prevent it.
And Dr. ZULU said the patient who tested positive for Mpox is in a stable condition.
