ZNS seizes 1,000 bags of Mealie-Meal

The Zambia National Service -ZNS- has confiscated over one thousand bags of ZNS mealie-meal from various traders at Lusaka’s Mtendere market.
ZNS Commander, Lieutenant General MALITI SOLOCHI, says the operation has been carried out due to investigations that revealed that the mealie-meal was being sold at exorbitant prices.
He warned that the operation to confiscate mealie-meal sold at high prices will be extended to all parts of the country.
General SOLOCHI, expressed disappointment that some traders are taking advantage of Zambians who cannot afford other brands of mealie-meal.
He emphasized the need for allied millers to collaborate with the service in identifying bulk buyers and monitoring prices.
