ZNS to establish database for volunteers
By Caren Mwaka
The Zambia National Service (ZNS) says plans are underway to establish a database for volunteers who will undergo military training.
ZNS Commander Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi says the initiative aims to create a pool of disciplined young individuals who will be considered for future recruitment.
He says this will also serve as a priority reservoir for employment opportunities in the Zambia Army, Zambia Air Force, Zambia Police, Zambia Correctional Service, and other quasi-government institutions.
Lieutenant General Solochi told ZNBC News that youths participating in the reintroduced ZNS voluntary training will be required to contribute a small fee.
He has called on stakeholders to sponsor young people who will participate in the program, which seeks to empower the youth while addressing unemployment.
