ZNS to Supply Mealie Meal to UNZA Students

The Zambia National Service -ZNS will start the regular supply of Eagles mealie meal to the University of Zambia, beginning with an initial delivery of 2,000 bags by 25 kilograms.
The initiative follows a directive from the President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, for ZNS to provide affordable mealie meal to students.
The decision was disclosed today when a delegation from UNZASU, accompanied by the Dean of Students, paid a courtesy call on the ZNS Commander, Lieutenant General MALITI SOLOCHI.
And General SOLOCHI assured the students that they will have access to affordable mealie meal.
He said the mealie meal is strictly designated for students and cautioned against misuse.
And, UNZA Dean of Students, JOHN MUNKOMBWE also acknowledged the Service’s ongoing construction of ablution blocks at the Great East Road Campus.
Meanwhile, UNZASU Great East Road Campus President, DICKSON MUTAMBO, praised ZNS for stepping in to support students with affordable mealie meal.
Meanwhile, UNZASU Ridgeway Campus President, PRESTON MULALA,
noted that beyond restoring student allowances, the government has continued to implement initiatives that directly improve students’ well-being.
