ZRA Intercepts 1,200 boxes of slippers in tax evasion case

The Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- has intercepted over 1200 boxes of slippers and 348 boxes of shoes that were under-declared.
The products belong to Dronwave Investments Limited.
ZRA Corporate Communications Manager OLIVER NZALA says the company under-declared products to evade paying 215,000 kwacha in taxes.
Speaking during a tour of the company in Lusaka’s industrial area today, Mr. NZALA said the firm initially declared a shipment as containing shoe soles, glue, and heels.
H said a physical inspection by the Authority revealed that the shipment actually contained one thousand two hundred and ninety-five boxes of slippers and three hundred and forty-eight boxes of shoes that were not declared.
