ZRL engages partners to boost operations

Zambia Railways Limited –ZRL- has held discussions with potential funders and partners aimed at enhancing operations of the company.
The engagements were held at the just ended Mining Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa.
ZRL Managing Director CUTHBERT MALINDI says the company will address the current capacity challenges of locomotives through partnerships.
He says this will ultimately improve service provision.
Mr. MALINDI says the main challenge has been the state of the rail- line as well as the rolling stock, adding that finding suitable funders and partners is among the company’s top priorities to revitalize its operations.
The Zambia Railways Limited was part of the Indaba which attracted more than 8,000 delegates, 1,200 investors, 700 mining companies, as well as 94 Government officials drawn from across 100 countries worldwide.
