Government has announced that the Ministry of Mines will soon allocate mining tenements to small-scale miners at Kikonge Mine in Mufumbwe, North-Western Province.
Youth, Sport and Arts Minister Elvis Nkandu said the move is aimed at enabling young people to formally resume mining activities in the area.
Mr. Nkandu made the remarks during a meeting with youths in Solwezi, North-Western Province.
Speaking at the same meeting, North-Western Province Minister Robert Lihefu called for a mindset change among young people, urging them to embrace opportunities that contribute to national development.
