Investigation Launched Into Abandoned Vehicles – DEC

By Alice Lubasi

The Drug Enforcement Commission –DEC- is investigating an abandoned property in Lusaka’s Libala Stage 4 area following reports of unattended vehicles.

DEC Public Relations Officer ALLAN TAMBA says the investigation, which began on Monday, March 16, 2026, is aimed at establishing the ownership of the property and its contents.

Mr. TAMBA says upon arrival at the premises, identified as House Number 12 on Mbila Street, officers discovered six abandoned motor vehicles.

He says the vehicles include a white Toyota Land Cruiser, a white Toyota Mark II, a Toyota Corolla, a blue Toyota Corolla, a grey Toyota Axio, and an unregistered Toyota Cresta.

Mr. TAMBA says officers also seized several items from the property, including twelve new R17 wheels, two laptop bags, a Pentamark generator set, a loudspeaker, a suitcase, and a box containing company documents.

Meanwhile, Mr. TAMBA has dismissed claims circulating on some media platforms linking the property to former President EDGAR LUNGU.

He says investigations are ongoing to establish the true ownership of the property.

Mr. TAMBA adds that the vehicles have been secured and that the public will be informed once the investigation is concluded.
