12 arrested for car thefts at the Kafue traffic circle

Twelve suspects have been apprehended in Lusaka in connection with thefts from motor vehicles at the Kafue traffic circle in the Central Business District -CBD.
Home Affairs Minister, JACK MWIIMBU has disclosed today in parliament, when he gave a ministerial statement on the prevalence of recent thefts in Lusaka’s CBD.
Mr. MWIIMBU also said some of the stolen property has since been recovered and members of the public, who have been victims of the respective thefts, must come forward.
He has further disclosed that the ministry plans to install more CCTV cameras in many public spaces in the CBD, in order to enhance surveillance and improve security.
Meanwhile, Mr. MWIIMBU has warned that government will not tolerate any activities, aimed at creating anarchy in the country.
He said individuals involved in criminal activities, including hate speech and defamation, will be arrested and held accountable under the law.
Mr. MWIIMBU was responding to a question raised in parliament by Nkana Member of Parliament, BINWELL MPUNDU, who was inquiring about allegations of government abduction of citizens.
