
40 Grannies Travel to SA for Football Tournament

A 40-member squad of the Zambia Grannies National Football Team has traveled to South Africa ahead of the Grannies International Football Tournament.
The tournament will take place from April 2nd to 5th 2025 and will feature teams from 16 countries.
The tournament will also bring together veteran women footballers from across the continent in a celebration of skill, passion, and unity through sport.
Speaking to ZNBC Sports, National Team Coach Emma Simukoko has expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Sports for sponsoring the trip.
Simukoko has encouraged older individuals to take up the sport, emphasizing its benefits in maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
She has also encouraged women to take up sports, emphasizing that it provides a platform to showcase their skills and talents.
The Grannies National Team’s participation on the international stage underscores the vital role of sports in keeping older individuals active and healthy.
