Guntila’s murder suspects committed to High Court
The four suspects in the murder of Independent Broadcasting Authority -IBA- Director General, GUNTILA MULEYA, have been committed to the high court.
This was after Lusaka Magistrate MUTINTA MWENYA received a committal certificate from Director of Public Prosecutions, GILBERT PHIRI to commit the matter to the high court.
When the matter came up for mention and possible committal Magistrate MWENYA informed the suspects that she is committing the matter to the high court pursuant to section 254 of the Criminal Procedure code.
The suspects will wait for the matter to be cause listed in the high court to take their plea.
In this matter, FRANCIS CHIPYOKA, an Accountant at IBA, two Police Officers ALEX ZULU and MTHUSANI DOKOWE, SAMUEL DOKOWE an Engineer, are jointly charged with the murder of Mr MULEYA.
It is alleged that on July 23, 2024 the four accused jointly and whilst acting together did murder the IBA Director-General.
