Chongwe Council demolishes illegal makeshift stalls in Silverest
Chongwe Municipal Council has demolished several illegal trading structures erected around Silverest.
Council Assistant Public Relations Manager, CECILIA MUKONKELA says the traders were given 14 days’ notice to vacate but they did not adhere.
Ms. MUKONKELA further says the traders were operating under unsanitary conditions as the place did not have toilets and running water.
She says the traders were depending on toilets from a nearby University and school.
