Mopani’s smelter is out of order

The smelter at Mopani Copper Mine in Mufulira will be out of operation until end of February, 2025.
Mopani Copper Mines Chief Executive Officer, CHARLES SAKANYA says this follows the breakdown of the Oxygen Plant at the Mufulira Smelter.
Mr. SAKANYA says the smelter will remain down to facilitate maintenance works.
He adds that the mine will continue to engage with all stakeholders throughout the refurbishment programme.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by Mopani Public Relations Manager NEBERT MULENGA.
