Human Rights Defender NGANDE MWANAJITI has commended President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s administration for its unwavering stance on abolishing the death penalty.
Mr. MWANAJITI says the UN General Assembly 10th Resolution, which seeks to place a moratorium on the death penalty reflects Zambia’s commitment to upholding human rights.
He says the commitment has been further demonstrated through the endorsement of the anti-death penalty stamp by Justice Minister PRINCESS KASUNE during the resolution process.
He told ZNBC News in a statement that Zambia’s position agrees with the morally compelling Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
