Krishitantra Agritech develops soil testing device
The government, in partnership with Zambian company Krishitantra Agritech Limited, has developed a soil testing device that performs comprehensive soil analysis in just 30 minutes, equipping farmers with precise agronomy advice for better crop management.
The technology, developed in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, is called the Rapid Automated Soil Test with Agronomy (RASTAA).
A growing number of farmers across the country are adopting the soil testing technology to reduce input costs and boost crop productivity.
Belly Mainza, a commercial farmer at York Farm in Chilanga District, Lusaka, is among those who have adopted the initiative.
Mr. Mainza has encouraged small-scale farmers to embrace the technology, emphasizing its importance for sustainable agricultural practices.
