The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Electoral Committee has unveiled a roadmap for the 2025 elections.
This follows the approval of the roadmap by the World Football Governing Body, FIFA, with nominations expected to commence on February 1, 2025.
FAZ Electoral Committee Chairperson Ronald Hatoongo made the announcement during a press briefing held in Lusaka today.
Hatoongo stated that the process will be free and fair, adding that the committee consists of professionals capable of handling elections across the board.
FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga emphasized that everything outlined in the roadmap will be followed, with the elective Annual General Meeting scheduled for March 29, 2025.
Kamanga noted that following the amendment of the FAZ constitution, it has been enshrined that the elections will be held towards the end of March.
He further emphasized the need to trust the credibility of the Electoral Commission.
According to the released roadmap, nominations will close on February 7, followed by eligibility checks conducted by the Governance and Review Committee.
The final decision will be announced on February 22, 2025, leading to the start of official campaigns by the nominated candidates.
By March 8, all documents relating to the Elective General Meeting will have been circulated.
