Twenty-two boreholes will be drilled in Nangoma Constituency to address water challenges in the area.
The boreholes will be drilled at a total cost of six million kwacha.
Nangoma Member of Parliament Collins Nzovu says the boreholes are meant to supplement the government’s efforts in combating water challenges in the country.
Mr. Nzovu, who is also the Minister of Water and Sanitation, told ZNBC News that of the 22 boreholes, 20 are domestic while two are commercial.
Meanwhile, Lukanga Water and Sanitation Managing Director Nyonge Phiri said the first borehole will be drilled at the market.
Mr. Phiri said this is to ensure that sanitation and hygiene are maintained at the market.
