Dr. MAIMBO urges more support for Africa’s growth

Zambia’s SAMUEL MAIMBO, who has officially launched his campaign for the Presidency of the African Development Bank, says African countries need support at the largest level.
Dr. MAIMBO, who has been endorsed by SADC and COMESA, says this is because 40 percent of African countries that receive financial concessions from multilateral institutions are in distress.
Speaking on ZNBC’s SUNDAY Interview, Dr. MAIMBO also observed that African countries must focus on investing in domestic private sector as an engine for growth.
He said economic growth comes from local enterprises and that without it there are financial limitations.
And Dr. MAIMBO said there is need for countries to consider investing in regional integration and how to open up the market outside the continent, adding that no single market in Africa that can thrive on its own.
He further underscored the need to look at sectors that can generate jobs for young people.
Dr. MAIMBO also disclosed that Africa produces 10 Million graduates and that only THREE Million jobs are available.
He has pledged to support African countries rise to higher heights once he is elected on May 29, 2025.
