Commonwealth’s SCOTLAND becomes Senior Headwoman BUTAMBO

Commonwealth Secretary General PATRICIA SCOTLAND has been installed as Senior Head woman BUTAMBO in the HAMUSONDE Chiefdom, Monze District of Southern Province.

The Ceremony which was witnessed by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, First Lady MUTINTA HICHILEMA, Traditional leaders and Senior Government Officials, also saw over 170 cattle donated to Ms. SCOTLAND.

Ms. SCOTLAND was instrumental in the release of Mr. HICHILEMA, when he was incarcerated in 2017 during the PF reign.

And, Ms. SCOTLAND pledged to seriously take her role of being Senior Headwoman BUTAMBO.

She thanked the people of Zambia for maintaining peace and unity.

Meanwhile, President HICHILEMA said government is working hard to maintain the unity, peace and security for development in the country.

The Head of State thanked Ms. SCOTLAND for her contribution in keeping peace and maintaining democracy in the country.

President HICHILEMA said the UPND Administration will continue to operate on democratic principles and upholding the rule of law.

The President said the UPND government wants to build unity to foster development in the country.

Meanwhile President HICHILEMA has urged young people to look for partners who can stand with them through thick and thin.

The President who praised First Lady MUTINTA HICHILEMA for standing with him through thick and thin, has urged men NOT to chase their wives from their homes.

And Local Government and Rural Development Minister GARY NKOMBO has appreciated President HICHILEMA for being resilient during the time he was in prison and having taken the country this far.

He said President HICHILEMA is a brave man and that it is because of his bravery and the intervention of the Commonwealth Secretary General that Zambia today is living the dream of free education, among other benefits.

Meanwhile, Southern Province Minister CREDO NANJUWA has urged the newly installed senior head woman Ms. SCOTLAND to woo investment to the chiefdom and the province at large.

And Chief HAMUSONDE has thanked President HICHILEMA for inviting the Commonwealth Secretary General on behalf of the chiefdom.

He also thanked Ms. SCOTLAND for helping in ensuring that President HICHILEMA was released from prison in 2017.
