Police Probe Child Sodomy Case in Lusaka’s Mtendere East

Police in Kabwata are investigating a case of sodomy involving a five-year-old girl in Mtendere East.

Police spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA says the incident occurred on March 11, 2025 when the victim was allegedly abducted by four male suspects and sexually assaulted in an unfinished house.

Two suspects, identified as WILLIAM PHIRI, 21, and LAWRENCE PHIRI, 19, have been arrested, while police are searching for two others.

Mr. HAMOONGA says the assailants allegedly covered the victim’s face with masks and took turns sodomizing her before threatening to slit her throat with a razor blade if she revealed the ordeal.

He told ZNBC news in a statement that the victim sustained injuries and is receiving medical care.

Mr. HAMOONGA has assured the public that all efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice and urged communities to report suspicious activities.
