GRANT Names Final Squad for Russia Friendly

Chipolopolo Coach AVRAM GRANT has named his final 19-Member Squad to face Russia in an international friendly game.

The Game which is scheduled for Tuesday March 25, 2025 is set to help the team prepare for the AFCON.

And making a return to the Squad is defensive Midfielder MIGUEL CHAIWA who could not conclude the AFCON qualifiers due to injury and Nchanga Rangers goal keeper VICTOR CHABU.

Others handed a call up are defenders DOMINIC CHANDA of Power Dynamos and Zanaco trio DOMINIC KANDA, WILSON CHISALA and KELVIN KAPUMBU.

The Squad will be without the services of Strikers PATSON DAKA, LAMECK BANDA, FRANCISCO MWEPU, winger LUBAMBO MUSONDA, midfielders BENSON SAKALA and GOLDEN MAFWENTA.

Defenders STOPILLA SUNZU, FRANKIE MUSONDA, TANDI MWAPE and OBINO CHISALA are among the many not included on the list.

And in the Goalkeeping department Power Dynamos and Chipolopolo shot stopper LAWRENCE MULENGA has also not been included for the Russia trip.

Others who are a regular feature and have been given a call up are Goalkeeper TOASTER NSABATA, Defender KABASO CHONGO, Midfielder EMMANUEL BANDA, winger KLINGS KANGWA and striker KENNEDY MUSONDA.

And Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- General Secretary REUBEN KAMANGA says the team is expected to regroup as they travel to Russia for the game.

KAMANGA says some players are not on the list due to sanctions placed on Russia.

He says the aim of the trip is to give the team the much needed exposure as they prepare for major tournaments like the AFCON.
