“Professionalism in PR and Commuincation is a matter of National Interest”

Information and Media Permanent Secretary, THABO KAWANA says Professionalism in Public Relations and Communications is a matter of national interest.

He says this is why the government stands in full support of the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication-ZIPRAC – mandate in enforcement of its Act.

Mr. KAWANA says this is in a bid to promote effective communication, which is the backbone of any progressive nation.

The Permanent Secretary was speaking in Livingstone on Friday evening during the 14th ZIPRAC awards gala dinner.

Speaking at the same event, ZIPRAC President IRENE CHIPILI said ZIPRC stands ready to work closely with the government to disseminate timely and coordinated information to the public.

Mrs CHIPILI said the Institute has a pool of qualified and experienced PR and communication professionals in both public and private sector who stand ready to assist government in providing appropriate information for the public to make informed choices.
