By Masauso Mkwayaya
Energy Minister PETER KAPALA says Hospitals and other critical facilities are not experiencing load shedding. Mr. KAPALA says ZESCO has been directed to supply electricity for 24 hours every day to Hospitals, Water Utilities and Security Wings. He says ZESCO has isolated lines to the said institutions to ensure they have uninterrupted supply. Mr. KAPALA said this in the National Assembly today in a Ministerial Statement on the implementation of the Presidential directive not to load shed critical facilities such as Hospitals, Water Utilities and Security Wings. The Energy Minister said the said facilities are consuming 122 Mega Watts of power. He said Hospitals are consuming 42 Mega Watts while Water Utilities are consuming 38 Mega Watts.
