Green Buffaloes off to Malawi for COSAFA Club Women’s Championship

Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club has left for Blantyre Malawi ahead of the COSAFA Club Women’s Championship.
The Women’s Super League Champions left for Malawi in the early hours of today aboard a chartered airplane.
Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club will aim to win the regional title which serves as an automatic qualification to the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Buffaloes are in Group A alongside Ongos Ladies of Namibia, Herentals Queens of Zimbabwe and debutants, University of Western Cape of South Africa.
With two-time regional Champions Mamelodi Sundowns missing out of qualification, Group B consists of Gaborone United Ladies of Botswana, hosts Ascent Academy and Young Buffaloes of Eswatini.
The 10 days tournament is set to begin on the 15th, with the final slated for the 24th August 2024 .
Speaking in an interview, Greens Buffaloes Women’s Football team coach CAROL KANYEMBA said the team is determined to win the competition.
KANYEMBA said despite the team having a few inclusions, the girls are positive with the morale in camp high.
She said they want to work on the mistakes that they had encountered in last year’s edition.
