Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has urged Opposition Members of Parliament to offer constructive checks and balances on the executive in parliament.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says this will assist government in finding lasting solutions to the various problems that affect citizens.
Speaking today, in the National Assembly, the Vice President said it is important for MPs to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
Mrs. NALUMANGO said this seating will focus on the approval of the 2025 National budget which will be done under the sector budget analysis process.
She added that MPs especially ministers should acquaint themselves with the sector budget analysis process to avoid disruptions in the approval processes.
Mrs. NALUMANGO also said the executive will continue to issue ministerial statements in order to explain measures being undertaken by government to mitigate effects of drought on national food security and power generation.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition ROBERT CHABINGA said the recess gave MPs an opportunity to inspect various CDF funded developmental projects facilitated by government.
Mr. CHABINGA said the opposition remains steadfast in their work and will apply themselves unreservedly in continued pursuit for the needed development that the country needs.
