Bata to double gumboot production

BATA is set to more than double its production of safety wear with the procurement of a Gumboot Machine.

BATA managing Director OCTAVIA SAKALA says the company will increase its production from 450,000 pairs to 1.1 million pairs of safety wear annually.

Ms SAKALA says through this investment, the company will provide safety wear for various sectors.

She said during the launch of the Gum boot machine in Lusaka today.

And Zambia Association of Manufacturers Chief Executive Officer, MUNTANGA LINDUNDA says investments in value chains will help create jobs and develop skills.

Ms LINDUNDA said such investments will also lead to industrial growth and resilience.
