Copper Queens beat Angola 3-nil

The Copper Queens have beaten Angola 3 goals to Nil in their opening Group C match of the COSAFA Women’s Championship in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
OCHUMBA LUBANJI, LUNGOWE NAMASIKU and REGINA CHANDA scored for Zambia, in the game played today in the afternoon.
And Copper Queens Coach, FLORENCE MWILA said the win is an independence gift to the country, which is celebrating 60 years.
MWILA stated her happiness with the result, especially those playing the COSAFA for the first time who were able to express and account for themselves well.
Meanwhile, Angola’s Coach, SOUSA GARCIA conceded defeat to the Copper Queens but was happy with the performance of the less experienced players.
GARCIA said the team’s focus now is the next game as they look to revive their chances of a place in next round of the championship.
The Copper Queens are in Group C with Angola and Comoros.
