COSAFA Women U20 : Zambia to face Botswana

The Zambia Under-20 Women’s Football Team will look to maintain their winning streak in the COSAFA Women’s Championship when they face winless Botswana tomorrow.
The Junior Copper Queens are riding high after a dominant 3-nil victory over hosts South Africa yesterday, building on their emphatic 9-nil triumph against Lesotho earlier in the week.
They have now scored 12 goals in two matches and sit on top of the table with six points in a five member round robin group of five teams.
Speaking to the press after the match, Zambia coach CHARLES HAALUBONO has expressed excitement over his team’s resilience and discipline.
The match between South Africa and Zambia remained goalless until substitute RUTH MUWOWO, brought on in the 57th minute, scored within five minutes making it her third goal of the tournament.
SALIYA MWANZA doubled the lead in the 82nd minute with a powerful strike that hit the crossbar before finding the net.
And JESSY ZULU sealed the victory in added time with a penalty after ASANDA NCHUNU fouled BWALYA CHILESHE.
South Africa coach MAUNDE KHUMALO expressed disappointment, admitting his side was second-best on the day.
Zambia will be aiming for another dominant display on Friday to seal their place at the top of the group.
The match between Zambia will be played at 12hrs followed by hosts South Africa and Lesotho at15hrs.
