Court Jails ZAF Officer, Wife for Corruption

A Zambia Air-force Force –ZAF- Warrant Officer has been sentenced to three years imprisonment with hard labour after being convicted for possession of properties deemed to be proceeds of crime.

ALBERT SIYUNDA has been jailed together with his wife, LYATAMANI NANDILA whose sentence is three years simple imprisonment.

Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate SILVIA MUNYINYA has passed the verdict.

In this matter Mr. SIYUNDA was charged with possession of properties worth over seven million Kwacha, deemed to be proceeds of crime.

It is alleged that between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021, Mr. SIYUNDA possessed properties, namely six residential houses, deemed to be proceeds of crime, concealed and registered in his wife’s name, LYATAMANI NANDILA.

Mr. SIYUNDA during the period under review possessed one residential house, deemed to be proceed of crime registered in his own name.
