Emerald Production Watch Praises Removal of Gemstone Export Tax

The Emerald Production Watch of Zambia has commended the move by the government to remove the 15 percent export duty tax on gemstones.
Emerald Production Watch President Musa Kafimbwa told ZNBC News that this decision is expected to boost the country’s gemstone industry.
Mr. Kafimbwa said this is especially good as the industry is just recovering from the shocks it suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the move is a significant step towards supporting capital investment and growth in the sector.
