Former ZRA Chief found with case to answer

Former Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- Commissioner- General, KINGSLEY CHANDA and former ZRA Director Administration, CALISTUS KAOMA, have been found with a case to answer.

This is in a matter where Mr. CHANDA and Mr. KAOMA are charged with willful failure to comply with procedure and abuse of authority, relating to the disposing of 22 ZRA vehicles.

Particulars are that Mr. CHANDA and Mr. KAOMA, between January 14, 2017 and December 31, 2020, did willfully fail to comply with the applicable law and procedure.

When the matter came up today, before Lusaka Magistrate SYLVIA MUNYINYA, the court put Mr. CHANDA and Mr. KAOMA on their defence.

The matter has been adjourned to April 8, 2025 for the pre-defence conference.
