Government Urges Loan Defaulters to Repay CEEC Debts
Government has urged individuals defaulting on loans under the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) to repay their debts.
Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Elias Mubanga says loan defaulters are affecting people interested in benefiting from the initiative.
Speaking to ZNBC News in an interview, Mr. Mubanga cautioned citizens against taking advantage of the fact that the loan initiative is government-funded.
He says President Hakainde Hichilema, during his address to Parliament, stressed the importance of repaying loans acquired from the government.
Mr. Mubanga further advised those facing repayment challenges due to the 2024 drought-induced hardships to formally write to both his Ministry and CEEC for their cases to be examined.
