Government has allocated 80 hectares of land to the Football Association of Zambia- FAZ- for the construction of a technical center and center of excellence.
The project is fully sponsored by world football governing body FIFA.
Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU says the move is a step in the right direction to improve the quality of football in Zambia and nurture young talent.
In a speech read on his behalf by Permanent Secretary KANGWA CHILESHE, NKANDU said the land allocation is also an indication of the government’s passion for sport.
Meanwhile, FAZ President ANDREW KAMANGA, who was represented by Lusaka Province Chairperson JORDAN MALITI, said construction works will commence immediately after the festive season.
