President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says there is need to deepen cooperation between Zambia and Finland so that Finnish Businesses can easily invest in the country.
President HICHILEMA has called for practical and enhanced steps going forward between the two countries.
He says Zambia and Finland can achieve more together by focusing on bilateral relations and specific business investments.
The President said this during a bilateral meeting with a delegation from Finland led by Foreign Trade and Development Minister VILLE TAVIO after the official opening of the third LDCs meeting in Lusaka today.
He said irrigation support is important and that he would like to see more specific meetings between Zambia and Finland resulting in investment projects and transfer of technologies.
President HICHILEMA expressed happiness with a presentation by an Investor from Finland whose Company called Block Solutions manufactures environmentally friendly blocks using recycled materials.
And Mr. TAVIO said Finland would like to support Zambia’s economic growth and resilience.
He said this would be done by assisting the country to industrialize and facilitate technology transfer.
Mr. TAVIO said Zambia and Finland both have sectors that complement each other and that the country can be supplied with Mining equipment, water purification and recycling equipment.
He said the Russia-Ukraine war has caused huge economic backlash and he expressed happiness that Zambia has decided to stand on the right side of history in the conflict by defending the UN charter.
