HH expected in Tanzania

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is expected in Tanzania for an official visit.
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE says the visit is at the invitation of Tanzanian President Dr. SAMIA SULUHU HASSAN.
Mr. HAIMBE says President HICHILEMA will attend the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit scheduled for January 28, 2025, in Dar -es-Salaam, Tanzania.
The Summit will bring together African Heads of State and Government, high-ranking officials, senior policymakers, and development partners to advance efforts towards achieving universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy by 2030
The Summit which is jointly organized by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania, the World Bank Group, the African Development Bank, and other partners, will drive the Mission 300 initiative, which aims to provide electricity access to 300 million people by 2030.
Mr. HAIMBE says the Summit will be preceded by a Ministerial Conference on January 27, 2025.
On the sidelines of the Summit, President HICHILEMA is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other leaders to discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest.
President HICHILEMA will return to Zambia immediately after the conclusion of the Summit.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by Mr. HAIMBE.
