Indian Investment in Zambia Reaches Over $5Bn

Outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Zambia, Ashok Kumar, says Zambia has become an important destination for Indian investment.

Mr. Kumar told ZNBC News that with a pledged investment of over 5 billion US dollars, India is one of the leading investors in Zambia.

He said the Indian business community and its industry representatives are taking active measures to grow trade and commerce between India and Zambia.

Mr. Kumar said bilateral trade has been growing steadily and reached 450 million US dollars in 2023-24.

He added that there is more potential for growth in agriculture, mining, pharmaceuticals, and petroleum products, among others.
