
Kabuswe challenges Mimbula mine to work suppliers and contractors
Government has challenged Mimbula Mineral Resources Limited management to effectively collaborate and create working partnerships with local suppliers and Contractors to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
Mines Minister PAUL KABUSWE says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA resuscitated the mining sector for the benefit of Zambians and surrounding Communities.
Mr KABUSWE, who was in the company of the Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO said this during a meeting with management in Chingola to discuss pending issues such pollution and payments of suppliers and contractors.
He also urged suppliers to ensure they deliver whenever they are contracted by the mine.
AND, Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO called on the mines to respect its employees and the partnership it has with the local suppliers and Contractors.
Meanwhile, Mimbula Managing Director THEO SILVER said the mine remains committed to working with suppliers and contractors as it has paid over 200 million US Dollars to local contractors from 2023 to date.
Mr SILVER said the mining company will work on all the concerns raised by the Minister and suppliers.
