Kafue Town Council Land Agency revoked
(ZANIS) Lands and Natural Resources Minister ELIJAH MUCHIMA has with immediate effect revoked the land agency of Kafue Town Council.
This follows reports that the Council has been illegally allocating land in the Lusaka South National Park.
Dr. MUCHIMA says the Kafue Town Council is allocating land fraudulently to developers without following the stipulated procedure.
He says the Kafue Town Council is using a site plan that was acquired fraudulently to allocate land.
ZANIS reports that Dr. MUCHIMA said the suspension will remain in effect until the Council is ready to adhere and follow procedure as stated in the administrative circular No. 1 of 1985.
Meanwhile Dr. MUCHIMA has warned former and current Councillors to desist from allocating land fraudulently.
He urged members of the public to desist from procuring land from cadres as they risk losing out.
