By Mwamba Makonde
Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- President, ANDREW KAMANGA has commended the Under-17 boy’s National Team for qualifying to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Côte d’Ivoire.
KAMANGA has described the achievement as a proud moment for Zambian football.
So far, the Chipolopolo, Copper Queens, Under-20 men and the Under-17 boys teams have qualified for their AFCON competitions.
KAMANGA has also applauded the technical bench for their hard work as having junior teams competing on continental and global stages is the best way to invest in the future of Zambian football.
He has further emphasised that qualifying for the AFCON opens doors to the FIFA World Cup and the Under-17 boys have an opportunity to improve on their previous group stage exit to aim for World Cup qualification.
He says the Under-20 team should build on their experiences from the 2023 tournament for a better outcome.
The Under-17 boys have booked their place in the final after defeating South Africa 2-1 in the semi-finals and they will face Angola tomorrow in the COSAFA U-17 Championship FINAL.
